Neurodevelopmental Disorders
Signs of neurodevelopmental disorders are usually first seen in early childhood. A child may not meet certain milestones (walking, walking, etc.) on time or may have seemingly endless energy and trouble focusing. These could be signs of various neurodevelopmental disorders, such as ADHD (attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder), Autism spectrum disorders, or learning or intellectual disabilities. If you are concerned that your child may have a neurodevelopmental disorder the best place to start is by checking in with their pediatrician. They may recommend neuropsychological testing (see our next resources page) or other specialists.
If your child already has a diagnosis of ADHD, ASD, or a learning disability, there are many resources available to help! Executive functioning coaching may help your child organize and plan effectively. Social skills group may teach your child skills to interact with others in a safe, nurturing environment.
